for many men these days getting rid of unwanted hair is becoming a big part of there personal grooming routine.
they are discovering the benefits of smooth hair free skin.
men of all ages are now looking after there skin. from teens right through to there sixties and seventies.
What areas can be waxed.
Literally all areas of the male body can be waxed, Chest Wax, Back Wax, Arms, Full leg wax, intimate waxing, hollywood and back, sack and crack so we can wax right from bushy eyebrows down to hairy toes. However we do not wax mens scalp or beard area. this is an area that should never be waxed.
Does it hurt.
Yes there is some discomfort. especially the first time as there is a lot more hair to be removed for wax virgins. but it is nowhere near as bad as you may imagine. The results make it well worth while.
After the first wax it does get much easier and there is a lot less hair to be removed, plus the newly grown hair has not become as deeply rooted so is much easier to remove and the hair follicle gives up the hair without much fuss.
by the time you have your second wax the new hair regrowth is much finer and is much more sparse. by the third wax onwards it is easier again and the waxing treatments will become much easier on you the client. so the waxing will then be much more comfortable.
some people like to take a painkiller before they come for a wax. i believe this too can help.
if you have the area repeatedly waxed over time the hair regrowth will become finer sparser and much softer.
i only use hard non strip wax on the intimate areas. this is much kinder to the skin. It is applied to the skin and as it sets it grips onto the hair and sort of shrink wraps the hair. so as the strip of wax is removed then it brings the hair with it. one of the big advantages of non strip wax is it does not grip the skin so it helps reduce discomfort for the client. The wax removal feels similar to having a plaster removed from the skin. There is a mild stinging sensation then the sting is gone within a few seconds. So with modern waxes and the exceptional training that I have had, any discomfort is kept to a minimum, based at Nirvana Therapies Wrexham we will give you the right wax treatment and full after care and advice to get the best results for your waxing session and skincare.
Do you offer a body clippering service.
Yes i do offer a body clippering service. if you would prefer to just have your body hair trimmed down then i offer this at half the price of the male waxing.
Please be aware that i will not do any wet shaving on the body in any areas clippering is not shaving it is just shortening of the hair.
I do not do clippering in intimate areas only on the body.
What do i need to do before i come for a wax.
please do not trim or shave the area before you come for a wax. this is important as i need a minimum length of hair to be able to perform a good wax. I will need at least three to four weeks growth so if you have previously been shaving then you will need to grow the hair.
it is helpful if you can exfoliate the skin the night before your waxing treatment. this can be done with a loofah stick or a mitt.
Please can you come freshly showered for your appointment.
If you are going on holiday it is advisable that you wax a minimum of a week before the holiday begins. So as to allow the skin to settle down. So please inform me if you are going on holiday. This is important.
For holidays it is best practice to begin waxing two months beforehand. So that we can both assess how well your skin copes with being waxed. As men can be prone to break out of spots for a few days after waxing is done.
This can be helped with the use of a cream that I retail at the salon and by using an antibacterial body wash.
It is also important that you inform me of any medications you are taking or any medical conditions that you have prior to making your appointment. As certain conditions or medications can prevent you from being waxed. This is for your own protection.
I'm worried that i may get an erection.
As a therapist i am aware that this can happen. But only at the start of the treatment. This state will not last and it will disappear as soon as I start to remove the wax. However if it does not subside then that is not normal reaction. This is a common worry that men have. Please be aware that I expect my clients to behave in a respectful way and that any inappropriate behaviour or suggestive comments will not be tolerated. This is a professional waxing service, please be a Gentleman at all times.
